Privacy Policy
As an NGO-maintained platform, FOCI respects your privacy. Our infrastructure is designed to collect the absolute minimum amount of data required to run an academic journal.
1. Data Collection
Because FOCI operates as a static site and handles submissions via direct email, we do not utilize user accounts, tracking databases, or browser fingerprinting.
When you submit a manuscript, we collect:
- Your email address (for editorial correspondence).
- Your name and affiliation (for publication, if accepted).
2. Cookies and Analytics
The foci.qd.je domain does not use tracking cookies. We do not use third-party analytics (such as Google Analytics) to track your reading habits. Your browsing of our scientific archives is entirely private.
3. Data Retention
If a manuscript is rejected, all email correspondence and attached documents are permanently deleted from our editorial servers within 30 days to protect your unpublished intellectual property.
If accepted, your name, affiliation, and email (if requested) will be permanently archived as part of the public scientific record alongside your paper.
4. GDPR Compliance
You have the right to request the correction of your personal data or its deletion (except where retention is required to maintain the integrity of the published academic record). Please contact the editorial board for privacy requests.
